The Polish MMA organization KSW is undoubtedly one of the biggest in the world. Now it has decided to expand to the Czech market, in 2023 we can look forward to its event in Liberec. What does Oktagon promoter Ondřej Novotný have to say?

Oktagon is an elite domestic organization, every year it is now expanding to other European cities. However, it is certainly not the only one growing in Europe.

Europe’s biggest organization KSW decided to show in the Czech Republic for the first time, which Ondrej Novotny didn’t exactly like.

“In case KSW wants to go to Ostrava, it’s unprecedented for us in a way, and at that moment, at least for that event, we’re definitely not friends, because we take it as a territorial thing, just like KSW takes it territorially as far as Poland is concerned. He does all the contracts and stuff like that,” he said on the air in the past.

In the end, it’s not Ostrava, but Liberec, which doesn’t change the essence of the matter. However, Novotny traveled to Poland for a meeting with KSW’s promoter, which he was ultimately satisfied with.

“We met with Martin Lewandowski, it was a very pleasant, quite long, meeting. We discussed the plans of KSW and Oktagon, we said if we have any crossover, what are our philosophies and strategies, what we actually want…

And we explained one thing that got us into a would-be conflict for a little while. But we never felt that way, I believe we explained it to each other and that’s basically what we parted ways with.

We kept our mutual agreements before and I believe we will keep them now. We also talked about Liberec and my opinion on that is that to each his own. We will not go to Poland 99% of the time, it doesn’t make sense to us,” Novotny said on MMA Flight Around the World.

Octagon prefers to head west. He is currently planning several tournaments in Germany, but he also wants to make his debut in England and Ireland.
