David Kozma confirmed on his youtube channel the name of his next opponent. It should be none other than Czech MMA veteran Petr “Monster” Kníže.
When domestic MMA legend Petr “Monster” Kníže defeated the young Brazilian Brit on points in a beautiful shootout in September 2021, he was promised a title shot in the welterweight division.
In the Welterweight division, the sovereign David Kozma reigns supreme, defeating one star opponent after another and lifting all MMA fans out of their chairs with his heroic performances. He is rightly called the king of the Octagon.
OKTAGON 29
The title fight was announced for December’s Oktagon 29 in Ostrava, unfortunately the tournament was accompanied by a number of inconveniences. First, Kniz announced that he would not be able to prepare for the five-round title fight due to injury, so the champion of two weight classes of the Oktagon, Ivan Buchinger, took the chance.
Unfortunately, the Slovakian legend was also injured and the fight was given to Serbian Bojan Velickovic at the last minute. To make matters worse, the promoters of the Oktagon organization had to deal with moving the event to Brno due to anti-coronavirus measures.
Veličković did get the champion Kozma in trouble after one head kick, but the Karviná native eventually knocked out his Serbian challenger in the fourth round after another ferocious performance and defended his welterweight title for the fourth time.
Kozma announced his opponent and the date of his defence
This Saturday, a video was released on David Kozma’s youtube channel as part of a Q&A where he revealed who his next title challenger will be. In addition, we also learned the date and location of the expected fight.
“The defense is already confirmed and it will be with Peter “Monster” Knight,” he confirmed the name of his next opponent. “It will be in Ostrava on April 9,” he also revealed the location and date of his sixth title fight.
On Monday, the first video of “The Pink Panther” preparing for his title fight with “Monster” was released on the MMA Hunters YouTube channel, and Kozma looks in great shape again. He fought Knight back in 2017 as a young fighter and definitely has a lot to repay him.
In fact, he lost a unanimous points decision to the seasoned veteran after a three round battle. So we definitely have something to look forward to in the rematch.
