Yannick Eduardo grew up in Kadan in the Czech Republic until the age of three. From the age of three he lived in Tiel, the Netherlands, where his first football steps began. In 2020, he moved to nearby Nijmegen. There, he became one of the cornerstones of the Nijmegen 17’s game over time.
At the beginning of July came probably one of the main footballing steps of this left-footed striker. A transfer to Leipzig was reportedly not the only option, yet the nearly two-metre tall striker chose RassenBallsport.
“I am very happy with this move. I had several conversations with the club in which I was convinced of the rightness of this move. I feel that I am in the right place. I want to develop as much as possible in the coming years,” Eduard is quoted by the Telegraaf.
The 16-year-old forward has the opportunity to represent the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. For now, he is trying his luck with the Dutch national team. There he has already managed to score his first goal. He scored his first goal on 19 October against Hungary, when he was the first to be on the scorers’ list. The match ended 5:0.
“We are in contact all the time, and in September we agreed that he would stay in Germany, where he had just started at a new school. He got a direct offer from us, we waited until October, when he told us that he would try Holland first, ” the coach of the Czech 17 told iDnes.
According to international football regulations, Eduardo has until the age of twenty-one to change national teams. After that, it will be more lengthy and complicated to arrange for Eduardo to represent the Czech Republic.
