Crazy Vemola? He must have lost 12 kilos in a day. I’ll be a double champion on Saturday, he says. Kincl has also gained weight: It’s finally here!
OKTAGON 43 will take place on Saturday evening, on Friday morning we got the official weigh-in. The most awaited was how the players of the main event would handle their first fight. However, both Karlos Vémola and Patrik Kincl made it through the duel with a knockdown.
OKTAGON 43 will take place on Saturday evening, on Friday morning we got the official weigh-in. The most awaited was how the players of the main event would handle their first fight. However, both Karlos Vémola and Patrik Kincl made it through the duel with a knockdown.
Patrik Kincl and Karlos Vémola will meet on Saturday night in a rematch that has been awaited for five years. And now there’s really nothing stopping it. Both fighters have successfully weighed in and we can only lose the fight by some unfortunate coincidence.
However, there has been a lot of speculation backstage about how much trouble both fighters are going to have in the rematch. While the Inspector seemed to have a smooth run from the way he looked at the official weigh-ins, Terminator clearly had it the other way around.
Vmola arrived at the scales first and even undercut the mandatory limit by 200 grams. However, when asked by commentator Bryan Lacey how hard the drop was, the Olomouc native didn’t look good at all.
He put up quite a fight. “On Thursday, I was still 12 kilograms short of making weight. A lot of people said I wouldn’t make it. But I am here and on Saturday I will be a double champion,” he let himself be heard at the weigh-in.
Kincl was 100 grams heavier on the scales than his opponent and besides, as mentioned, he looked a good deal better. But that may not play any role. After all, it is quite common for a Terminator to be in a similar condition from meeting the weight limits.
And what did the Inspector say after making weight? Nothing unexpected: “I waited five years and I’m f**king happy. After five years it’s finally here. I’ve been going for it all along.”
“It’s here. Perseverance, tenacity and discipline will get you where you want to go,” Kincl told fans.
Later on Friday afternoon, the two fighters will meet at a public weigh-in, which will also feature their latest staredown.
