Coach André Reinders on the fight between Kincelo and Vémola: It will be a major breakthrough for both! For the winner, and for the loser
This Saturday the story between Patrik Kinclo and Karlos Vémolá will be resolved. The winner will be watching his rival put on the middleweight championship belt and will be thinking about how the rest of his career will unfold. Vemola’s trainer André Reinders has now outlined how a potential defeat will hurt and how prepared his charge is.
The winner will be the champion, the loser will have his dreams dashed. He will forever be the one who fell in one of the greatest Czech MMA fights in history.
Vémola already experienced something similar when he got a hard KO from Attila Vegh. But how ready is he this time? That’s what his coach André Reinders had to say.
“Great. Karlos was already in the cage a month ago and it was a kind of test fight where he needed to get into fight mode, preparation and stress around. Moreover, it was already partly focused on the fight with Patrik.
But it’s clear that there were things specific to Al Matavaa to watch out for. His inverted guard, powerful punches and stocky build. After this fight we analyzed these things and worked on them for a month until the fight with Patrik,” he said in an interview with Sport.cz.
The experienced coach, who managed to beat Kinceloe on points in March 2010, also spoke about what it will be like for the defeated fighter.
“They are defacto at the top of the food chain. They’re fighting for a title in a prestigious European organization and the fall understandably hurts a lot. It’s compounded by the emotions and the trashtalk that has been going on for a while.
These things make it all the more poignant. It will be a major turning point for both of them. For both the winner and the loser,” he added. The tournament takes place this Saturday and the title match can be expected around midnight.
