Great fights, but only one title fight. Even though only one of the competitors is threatening to fight for the belt. The champion Ivan Buchinger takes on the interim champion Losene Keita.
Keita talked a lot before the fight and he’s very confident. He says he has better skills on the ground than Buchinger. Likewise, he says the Octagon deserves an active champion, which he says Buchinger is not.
The Slovakian fighter didn’t comment much on his opponent. However, when Keita failed to make weight on his first attempt on Friday, he couldn’t help but take a dig at him. He labeled him as unprofessional and added that he never stepped on the scale saying he wouldn’t make weight.
He threatened that Keita could not fight for the title. But in the end, he made the weight and can look forward to seeing how much he pissed off Buchinger with his statements.
“I’m going to show Keita that I’m proactive. I have to destroy him. He’s got a really big mouth and I don’t like that. Keita also said he’s better at wrestling than me (laughs). The fact that he throws me to the ground or gives me a takedown? They all give me that. I don’t even do the defense to get on the ground,” he was heard on the On Surveillance series.
Buchinger says Keita’s wrestling is about nothing. He admitted that while he’s explosive, he doesn’t know if he’s even that strong. In his match with Paradeiser, he said he showed nothing in that regard. “I have to tough it out to show that there is only one champion,” the champion is clear.
