It’s coming. David Kozma will make his sixth title defense on Saturday. His opponent will be the confident and dangerous Kaik Brito. Now the champion has spoken briefly about his challenger on Saturday.

David Kozma is the longest reigning champion in the Octagon. Many call him the true king of the organization, which of course is a reference to Karlos Vemola in particular, who hardly refers to himself as anything other than the king of the Octagon.

Already on Saturday, the only welterweight champion so far will face another dangerous opponent. He will face the confident Kaik Brito, who has the ability to end fights very quickly.

For now, the only blemish on the Brazilian’s journey through the Octagon remains his controversial loss to Peter Knight. He destroyed Monster in the first round, but in the next two rounds the Czech legend didn’t give him as many chances in the stand-up and rather took the fight to the ground.

Could it be that Kozma perceived the Brit as a tougher opponent than Knize? Not exactly. “The Prince beat him. But that fight could have gone either way,” he opined in an Octagon series called On Sight.

“It’s going to be tough in the first round. He’s got hard and fast punches, but I believe I can beat him to the feint and the heart. He’s always been prepared well so far, but from what I’ve seen of Storie, he has no one to prepare with. I see more chubby fighters and more beginners. Heeven has a female coach training him,” he added.

Despite everything the champion has said, he has no doubt that the Brazilian will be ready for him. Understandably, if only because he can’t afford to underestimate anything.

In addition, since Friday, Kozma has started working on his takedowns. According to him, this should not be a problem, as he weighs 85 kilograms and therefore has enough time to meet the welterweight limit.
