Boxing without gloves is coming to the Czech Republic! Czech Boxing Association distanced itself from organizing such fights

The Valhalla Fighting organisation is organising a boxing tournament without gloves in a fortnight, but the Czech Boxing Association has distanced itself from it.

In just 14 days the new organization will organize a boxing without gloves

Fans of combat sports may have noticed the new Valhalla Fighting Bare Knuckle organization in recent months. As the name implies, the organization is in the business of hosting boxing matches without gloves.

The sport has been hugely popular with the fan community abroad in recent years, especially thanks to the Bare Knuckle FC organization. But now this discipline is coming to the Czech Republic. On March 4, the first gala evening of the organization will take place at the UNYP Arena in Prague.

Fans can look forward to some serious bombshells, as well as familiar faces from the local fight scene. After all, the UFC star Makhmud Muradov will appear as the main referee, and his colleagues, presenters and guests will include the cream of Czech fighters and other well-known faces.

The Czech Boxing Association has distanced itself from the tournament

Of course, fights without gloves have their supporters, but they also have their detractors. The latter accuse these fights of being more dangerous to the fighters’ health than traditional boxing or MMA.

One of those who do not support the organisation of such tournaments is the Czech Boxing Association. “The leadership of the Czech Boxing Association has expressed its fundamental opposition to the promotion and organisation of boxing tournaments without gloves and distances itself from all such events,” the association’s website reads.

“Such events, which pose an imminent risk of serious injury, are contrary to the rules and principles of Olympic boxing. Their only benefit is a negative view of the general public of the gentlemanly sport that boxing is,” the statement continued.

Combat sports have enjoyed huge popularity among a new generation of fans in recent years, but are still not seen as a sport by the general public. The proof is the tenth place of former UFC champion Jiri Prochazka in the biggest MMA league in the world.
