Oktagon 35 in Brno this Saturday
Fans of domestic MMA have finally arrived. It’s been almost two months since we last saw the biggest domestic MMA organization Oktagon at Prague’s Štvanica.
This Saturday, however, another gala event called Oktagon 35 will take place at the Winning Group Arena in Brno. The main event of the tournament will be a middleweight title fight, where the current champion Patrik Kincl and challenger Alex Lohoré will face each other.
Before the tournament starts, however, there is news on the horizon that is closely linked to the city of Brno and the Oktagon tournament. The organization will have its home stand in the Moravian capital, where the tournaments will be held on the South Moravian field.

“ARENA BRNO, the biggest strategic project of the city of Brno,” reads the official website of the new arena. It should be a modern multifunctional hall equipped with cutting-edge technologies, where the biggest cultural and sporting events will take place.
The hall, which will provide a capacity of over 13,000 people and 1,300 parking spaces, will be located at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The hall’s website reports that construction of the building will begin in 2022.
Before the start of construction, the arena is already signing important contracts with strategic partners. Today, the arena posted on its Instagram that one of those partners will be the biggest domestic MMA organization Oktagon.
“ARENA BRNO, which was the top-ranked project in the National Sports Agency’s subsidy call, will thus become the home stand for the largest Czech-Slovak combat sports organisation and its tournaments in the South Moravian Region, in addition to HC Kometa Brno,” the multifunctional hall’s social media page reads.
We’ll see how long the whole construction will take. However, the organization recently announced that the portions of tournaments will be significantly increased. Moravian fans could thus be in for more spectacular tournaments.
