The Oktagon has a packed end of the year and fans have a lot to look forward to. Those who come to the OKTAGON 50 gala in Ostrava in early December will be treated to an awesome title battle, which was announced on Monday afternoon.

After the tournament in Bratislava, Oktagon has just a short break before the packed end of the year begins, with the organization delivering four galas in November and December.

In early November, the Czechoslovak number one brand will make its first appearance in England when it attempts to conquer Manchester, while in the second half of the month Oktagon will visit Cologne.

In December, however, Czechoslovak fans will be in for a treat when events are scheduled in Ostrava and Prague’s O2 Arena. And it is to Ostrava that the big bombshell of a title fight has now been announced.

Oktagon in Ostrava will deliver a great title fight

The head of the organization Ondrej Novotny announced after the gala event in Bratislava that Mate Sanikidze vacated the featherweight belt, which means one thing. Losene Keita, who scored his first defeat with him due to injury, will not see a rematch.

Still, he will get the chance to become a two-time champion as he will fight for the belt against a big German prospect in Ostrava. That is none other than Niko Samsonidse, who has made a big impression in two fights in the organization.

Oktagon gave Samsonidse a chance after a two-year hiatus caused by a nasty injury that left the German prospect with the only defeat of his career. He dominated both Roman Paulus and Nicolae Hante. After his first fight in the Oktagon, he spoke to Ruik about the injury, the comeback and the organization’s expansion into Germany.

Keita has scored 7 wins by KO/TKO in his 11 fights. Samsonidse, for his part, has raised his hands in 10 fights, winning eight times in the first round and nine times before the limit.

“Oktagon Lightweight Champion. He cut through the lightweight division like a knife through butter and then dominated the featherweight division by defeating the greatest Czech MMA talent Jakub Tichota. His speed and explosiveness is phenomenal. He has scalps of Slovak MMA elites Rysavy, Paradeiser, Pales and the legendary Buchinger, whom he knocked out in the 1st round,” Keita is described by the official Oktagon website .

“Germany’s greatest black belt BJJ talent and champion of the world’s biggest grappling and BJJ organization NAGA, who likes things solved quickly. He has finished almost all of his fights before the 1st round limit. But in 2021, after 6️ wins in a row, he got injured. At OKTAGON 42, he made a victorious return to the cage after 2 years hungry for more quick finishes,” reads Samsonidse.
