According to kicker.de, FC Bayern Munich, the current ten-time champion of the German top flight, has concluded an agreement with its first summer signing. He is the twenty-four-year-old right-back from Morocco Nousesair Mazraoui, who until today defended the colours of Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam.
Ajax right-back Mazraoui was already linked with the Catalan giant Barcelona in the winter. We informed you about the alleged interest in the player from the Camp Nou team here. However, the Moroccan right-back has decided to go a different route.
Mazraoui is out of contract at the end of the season in Amsterdam. He therefore comes to Bayern for free as a free agent. He is expected to report to Munich’s Alianz Arena, where he has signed for four years, on the first day of July.
Mazraoui played 12 games in the Morocco national jersey, scoring two goals.
In the Ajax Amsterdam jersey this season, he has made eight starts in the millionaire Champions League, in which he has recorded two assists. In the top Dutch competition, he has started twenty-four games ( 22 of them from the start) in which he has scored five goals and assisted twice.
In total, he played twenty-eight games for Ajax in the Champions League (with three goals and two assists) and 92 in the Eredivisie, where he collected six goals and four assists.
Given these numbers and despite his age, this footballer can already be considered an experienced right-back. His strengths include his very fast ball handling, as you can see here.
He can also play in the centre of midfield, which he is also experienced in. In Munich, however, it is expected that he will not play in his position of right-back, where Benjamin Pavard has been starting in Bayern’s line-up until now. However, he prefers to play in the centre of defence.
