West Ham and Czech national team right-back Vladimír Coufal is very popular among Hammers fans. His attitude and the passion with which he plays is like the epitome of a typical Hammers player. This was confirmed by the fans’ vote for the best West Ham player last season!
Since his transfer from Slavia in 2020, he has played almost everything he could for West Ham. He played 34 games in the Premier League last season, adding two FA Cup starts.
Total minutes? Coufal has played a whopping 3,265 minutes in the two competitions combined! Sportingly and price-wise, he has become one of West Ham’s best signings in many years. The Hammers acquired him for around 6 million euros.
After one season his price has at least doubled according to Transfermarkt, he currently has a market price of 12 million euros. However, the last price update was before the Euros, where the 29-year-old back shone. So it can be estimated that the real price tag is still a few million higher.
For his performances, Vladimir Coufal has earned himself a nice award as West Ham’s best player for the 2020/2021 season. Specifically from the Pride of Irons fan group!
Vladimir Coufal was understandably delighted with the award. “Thank you very much. The award from the fans means a lot to me,” he tweeted.
