Oktagon has another tournament ahead of it, OKTAGON 42 will take place in Bratislava on Saturday. On Friday there was the traditional pre-tournament weigh-in and once again there was one big sinner. Al Matavao found a competitor, Michal Kotalik.

Bratislava has a lot to look forward to. After a long time Oktagon returns to the capital of Slovakia with tournament number 42. An attractive card, familiar faces, new talents, local stars and newcomers from abroad.

The whole gala will be dominated by the battle for the interim featherweight title, with Losene Keita and Jakub Tichota. Fans will surely be eager to see another battle of the popular Vlasto Čepa.

One of the biggest stories in the history of the Octagon, Shem Rock is definitely one of the new discoveries that deserves attention. The duel between Matouš Kohout and Karol Rysavy is also expected, and Jeremy Kimball will also be in action.

In short, there will be a lot to see. Michal Kotalik will try to get on a winning streak after three losses since his release from prison. He has a rematch with Ole Magnor, who defeated him in the second round last summer on a submission.

Kotalik, on the other hand, had a chance to fight Vaclav Mikulas before losing to Magnor, but he lost that fight as well. After the fight with Nor he was not able to beat Mateusz Strzelczyk.

The Czech fighter worked hard, he did his best to get in shape. It’s already evident that he has gained muscle mass. But he didn’t make it through the first fight before the rematch. He lost his weight.

He’s supposed to fight Magnor at middleweight, where the weight limit is 84.4 kilograms. But Kotalik weighed 89 kilograms and the chances of him meeting the limit in two hours were minimal.

Kotalik thus emulated Al Matavao, who fought Karlos Vemola in the last tournament. Originally, the weight of the fight was announced at 89 kilograms, but it was eventually increased and even so the Samoan fighter did not fit the limit significantly.

UPDATE::

Kotalik made it to 88.75 kilograms on his second attempt, and his opponent only gave the nod for the fight with the stipulation that the Czech fighter must weigh no more than 93 kilograms one hour before the start of the tournament.
