In a recent interview with Radio Uno, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti spoke about the upcoming Champions League matches. He commented on the matches that await the two Milanese big clubs. According to the Italian strategist, Benfica is the better team on paper than Inter. In the case of the AC vs Napoli clash, he says it is difficult to predict ahead of time.

AC Milan have been inconsistent in Serie A this season, but it’s a different story on Champions League soil. The Rossoneri advanced out of the group stage from second place, leaving Salzburg and Dinamo Zagreb behind.

Stefano Pioli’s charges then knocked out Tottenham in the eighth round, winning 1-0 at the San Siro, and in the rematch they only needed a draw to advance. However, AC created other chances, especially in the first leg, from which they could have easily added more goals.

In the second game, the Rossoneri showed great tactical readiness and discipline, which allowed them to advance to the quarter-finals. But there they will face a great Naples.

The Partenopei are having a really exceptional season, but they should miss Victor Osimhen in the first game at the San Siro. How does Carlo Ancelotti see the upcoming AC-Naples double-header?

“It will be a very even and uncertain match. In such a match the players will feel the pressure, they will be very motivated, so there is no need to give motivational speeches.

It’s hard to say who is the bigger favourite. Napoli are having a fantastic season, Milan are up and down. But theirmotivation will be the same – to reach the semi-finals,” Ancelotti said in an interview with Radio Uno, whose words were also quoted by Football Italia.

And what about Inter’s clash with Benfica?

But the Real Madrid coach also commented on the match between Benfica and Inter Milan. It is the Portuguese side that starts at home and, according to Ancelotti, they are the stronger side on paper.

“On paper, Benfica are better, they have done very well, especially in the Champions League. But Inter has a chance to make up for a fluctuating season,” the Italian strategist said.

The atmosphere in all fan camps is slowly thickening, with all four games sure to offer a great spectacle. Benfica and Inter and Manchester City and Bayern are on the schedule on Tuesday. Then on Wednesday, AC Milan and Napoli and Real Madrid and Chelsea will face each other.
