Viktor Peshta improved his world ranking by winning the title in the Octagon. He has reached the real elite of the semi-heavyweight division. He is even better than his rival Karlos Vémola in the middleweight division.
At the beginning of this year, Viktor Peshta was ranked 67th in the Fight Matrix welterweight rankings. However, his win over Stephan Pütz has moved him up a notch.
After the latest update he is 46th, so he jumped 21 places. Only the real elite, i.e. fighters from UFC, Bellator or PFL, are ahead of him. In short, fighters from the best organizations in the world.
However, this is not Pest’s best so far. In 2015, the Czech fighter was ranked 25th in the heavyweight division.
What the Octagon’s first welterweight champion can take comfort in, then, is that he is ranked better than rival Karlos Vémola, who has consistently claimed that Pešta is a nobody.
The Terminator is ranked 53rd in his weight class.
Pešta can improve his position before the end of the year. There has been a lot of talk about a possible rematch with Pütz at the end of this year. However, it is questionable whether it will actually happen. Names like Ragozin or Xavier could be in play.
