The well-known Italian server La Gazzetta dello Sport came up with the information in the last few hours that Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is injured again.
The forty-one-year-old AC Milan striker reportedly picked up a muscle problem in his right thigh earlier this week while on national team duty.
And as Italian media now confirm, Ibrahimovic will miss his club again after the 0-3 loss to Belgium. According to the aforementioned site, Ibrahimovic will be out of training for about 15 days, but in total he should miss one month.
Ibrahimovic will therefore definitely miss the upcoming league match against Napoli. Moreover, if this scenario actually comes true, the Rossoneri will also miss the home game against Empoli (7 April) and, what’s more, he will miss the Champions League quarter-final match.
AC will play that on 12 April, with the current leader of the Italian top flight as their opponent. Stefano Pioli’s charges will start this double-header at home, with the return leg in Naples the following week.
Milan will then face Bologna in their next Serie A match on 15 April.
As for Ibrahimovic himself, the Malmö native only returned to action at the end of February after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee in May. He missed 30 games because of it.
Since then, he played 16 minutes against Atalanta, 24 against Fiorentina, 28 against Salernitana, and in his last league game against Udinese, he came into the starting line-up and scored a goal from a penalty. This made him the oldest goalscorer in Serie A history.
