A video of a suffering Neymar in rehab has gone around the world. He needs to forget about football for a while
When Neymar got injured in a World Cup qualifying match, it was expected to be nothing easy. Doctors subsequently confirmed this when the Brazilian striker tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and headed for surgery. He is now rehabilitating, but there is certainly nothing pleasant to speak of.

Doctors subsequently confirmed this when the Brazilian striker tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee and headed for surgery. He is now rehabbing, but there is certainly no talk of anything pleasant.
Neymar famously moved to Al-Hilal in the summer for €90 million, but only played 5 games there. That’s all the 31-year-old Brazilian managed to do. However, in mid-October came the national break, in which Neymar played for the national team, first against Venezuela and then against Uruguay.
In Montevideo, however, he did not even play the first half. He stumbled during a duel and left the pitch in tears on a stretcher. By then it was clear to everyone that this was not going to be a minor injury.
The top scorer in the history of the Brazilian national team subsequently underwent surgery and is now undergoing rehabilitation. However, these are very painful due to the severity of the injury, as evidenced by the published video.
Impact on career of Neymar
Neymar will celebrate his 32nd birthday in February next year. His time is therefore approaching when he will have to say goodbye to his active playing career for good. And it is this injury that may help the difficult decision considerably.
The length of his recovery has not been announced by the club, but for cruciate ligaments, the absence ranges from 6 to 12 months, depending on the severity of the situation. The Brazilian striker will therefore have to wait a few more months before he is able to take part in training.
However, Al-Hilal have been doing well without Neymar so far, winning every subsequent game since. Thanks to these results, he leads the Saudi Pro League by 4 points ahead of Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
But the Saudi Arabian team is not the only one directly affected. The Brazilian national team is also struggling with injuries, and they also lost their next two matches against Colombia and Argentina. After 6 qualifying matches played, they are in 6th place with 7 points.
