A very solid signing for Aston Villa! The seventh team of the last Premier League season has announced a new addition to the squad that will play in the Conference League next season. This is Youri Tielemans from Leicester.

After Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League, it was almost clear that Youri Tielemans would leave his current employer and head elsewhere. There was a lot of talk about the interest of Italian teams, especially AS Roma and AC Milan.

In the end, however, everything is different. The 26-year-old Belgian midfielder had a contract at Leicester until the end of June this year.

But he will not extend it. In fact, Tielemans will move to the club that finished seventh in the Premier League table last season and will play in the Conference Europa League next season.

It should be noted, Aston Villa have beaten Tottenham and also Brentford in the fight for European Cups.

Tielemans will officially join the club on July 1, becoming Aston Villa’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

With his contract coming to an end, the Villans are bringing him in for free, according to well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano, it is supposed to be a four-year deal.

Tielemans started his professional career at Anderlecht in Belgium. In 2017, he was brought by Monaco for 25 million euros, then in two years he went on loan just to Leicester, which then became a permanent transfer.

For the Foxes, the Belgian midfielder made a total of 195 competitive starts, in which he scored 28 goals and assisted on another 26. He helped Leicester to win the English Cup and the Super Cup.
