A hitch in the heavyweight Octagon! Moeil won’t show in Munich, promoter Novotny admits problems with the deal
The Octagon organization has set up a heavyweight title fight between Hatef Moeil and Adam Palasz for the first tournament of 2023. A few days ago, however, we could read the words of the German, who didn’t look like he was going to the Oktagon. Now the promoter Ondrej Novotny himself has confirmed it.
Hatef Moeil came to the Octagon with a clear goal. The organization wants to show up more and more often in Germany and thus try to build his name so that the crowds will come to see him.
He won two fights and since the heavyweight division is not heavily represented in the organization, it was a sure thing that he would go for the title. After Ostrava in December, reports were already coming out that his opponent would be Adam Palasz.
However, not everything is as the organization paints it. Moeil gave it and Palasz a good going over, and from his words it was certain that he wasn’t planning on showing up in Munich in February.
“Who are you to take my name in your mouth? OKTAGON doesn’t do politics. I told my manager that I will fight anyone, but they need to start paying me properly. I got paid next to nothing for those two fights in OKTAGON.
The main draw needs to be paid what he deserves or I won’t be fighting. You zku**ysyn don’t take my name in your mouth anymore. OKTAGON doesn’t pay and I don’t wrestle for free. I’ve already done a favor twice.
Don’t take my kindness for granted, or it’ll be bad. Pay me what I deserve. You know my PFL contract very well so don’t try anything with politics on me,” he wrote on Instagram.
Now everything has been confirmed by the promoter Ondrej Novotny himself at a press conference. It was clear that he was sorry about the absence, but unfortunately he has to come up with another ploy.
“We all know what he wrote now. Of course we could talk about it and discuss it, it’s a hot head… Well, it won’t be. His manager and I, who we’ve agreed a few times before that it would be, we agreed today that we don’t have to have everything. Moeil will not be in Munich.”
