A fight with Vemola? I don’t look too far ahead. Why dwell on what may or may not happen, Langer said
Karlos Vémola still dominates the welterweight division, but the Octagon doesn’t want the division to stand still for long, so it comes down to a title fight for the interim title. Pavol Langer, one of the participants in that fight, has now described his impressions after hearing about the bout.

Oktagon has another tournament to come, this time with the serial number 41. It will feature, among others, Karlos Vémola, who will go at the agreed weight of up to 89 kilos.
A month after that, he’ll face Patrik Kinclo at middleweight, so the welterweight division will still be standing for a while. That’s also why the Octagon has decided to go for the interim title.
Pavol Langer and Alexander Poppeck will fight for it. The fight will take place on June 17 at the Oktagon 44 tournament in Oberhausen, Germany, and the second-named will be the favourite.
The Slovak Langer, however, surprised the fans with his win over Rafael Xavier and may well surprise them in June. What was his reaction when he found out about the fight?
“First of all, I was very happy. I’m very happy that I got this opportunity. It’s a great chance for me, an important milestone in my journey in MMA. I take it very seriously. And of course, I’m also preparing in the same way,” he said in an interview with Kaocko.cz.
Langer earned his chance with his outstanding performances, but he also received some criticism from the organization’s boss Ondrej Novotny for not being able to sell himself and MMA is largely about that.
However, if he beats Poppeck as well, he has an open path to Vemola. Would he want to fight him? “For me, just the opportunity I have now is a huge motivation.
I’m not looking too far ahead, I’m focusing all my energy and attention on the next fight. Why worry about what may or may not happen,” he added.
