The Bundesliga will indeed be the most interesting in years. Bayern are as pumped up as ever, but their rivals are also strengthening in quality. Now Leipzig have signed another big signing, bringing the best goalscorer in the club’s history into their ranks.
The Bundesliga will indeed be the most interesting in years. Bayern are as pumped up as ever, but their rivals are also strengthening in quality. Now Leipzig have signed another big signing, bringing the best goalscorer in the club’s history into their ranks.
RB Leipzig are not going to let last season repeat itself. The hated club started that one poorly and had a lot of work to do to make up for the bad start under new coach Domenico Tedesco and finish in the top four.
Especially in the offensive area, the Saxon team will be really well secured. Christopher Nkunku stayed in Leipzig and André Silva didn’t leave either. Yussuf Poulsen remains a constant. The new addition is the giant talent from Salzburg, Benjamin Šeško.
To make matters worse, the best goal scorer in the club’s history is now returning to the club. Namely Timo Werner. He was leaving Leipzig in 2020 for Chelsea. RB earned 53 million euros from him. Now they have acquired him for 20 million. Werner has signed a four-year contract.
At Chelsea, however, Werner is nowhere near his Leipzig performances. He was expected to have the same goal scoring contribution, as he had no problem scoring over 20 goals a season across all competitions in the Bundesliga. On top of that, he added assists as well.
In the Blues jersey, he stood out in particular for his combativeness. He didn’t add much else. But he did win the Champions League, and nobody can take that away from him.
Leipzig is looking to Werner to take over as the team’s leader. He also promises to take the team as far as possible in all competitions in which the Red Bull-owned team will compete.
