Karlos Vemola spoke about the next possible match and the Rematch of the Century. What happens if Attila Végh beats him?
Karlos Vémola has had a rather cruel year in 2023. After years without a loss, he lost twice last year. Especially the recent defeat to Samuel Kristofich was a big surprise. Will he be able to have one more fight before the Century Games? And what happens if he loses to Attila Vegh for the second time?

Karlos Vemola was a big favourite. The Slovakian fighter wasn’t given much of a chance. But he was surprised to shock and he did. In the first round, at exactly 1:48, he knocked out the Terminator.
Even before the duel, the Pirate promised to put the Czech native in the same position that Attila Végh was in before the Match of the Century. Back then, Végh was finished by Zwicker and there was a lot of talk about whether the fight was worth it. Now almost the same thing is happening.
Vemola has turned from a favourite to an underdog after losing to Kristofich. At least according to the bookmakers’ odds. But they will continue to move. Also because of what the Terminator’s plans are.
Karlos Vemola reveals what’s next
He’ll have no shortage of opponents if he wants them. Karlos Vemola will still be a hot commodity on the market after his defeat. Not too long ago, he was challenged by Rafael Xavier. He might be even more cocky now that he knows he can hit the Terminator.
However, Terminator wanted to give Attila a title match and it’s questionable if he would be willing to risk that not happening. Though he doesn’t let such thoughts enter his head at all. It’s hard to believe that Vemola can go six months without wrestling. If only because he might want to get back on a winning streak. Mostly because of his psyche.
But he doesn’t see himself as likely to fight before the Fight of the Century. “I don’t think the Oktagon has any tournament that I can relate to, or that they have any opponent there. Now I’ll have six months to prepare for Attila. It’s going to be one of the longest periods of time I’ve dedicated to one opponent. Hopefully it will show,” he expressed in the CNN Prima News studio.
What is certain is that Vemola doesn’t want to finish with two straight defeats. That raises a lot of questions. Including whether the fight with Vegh will really be the last one.
“Never say never. I’m convinced I’ll win. I will sacrifice everything. I have no reason not to believe. It’s going to be a 1:1 match. If Attila asked for a third fight, how could I say no? Icouldn’t do that,” says Terminator.
And what if he loses? “It would also be the last fight. No one would want to end with two losses, but then there would be nothing. It would have been 2-0 to Attila. Then I wouldn’t know what to do with myself. I don’t even want to think about it,” concluded Vemola, who wants to end his career with his head held high.
