The Oktagon MMA organization has had successful tournaments in Prague’s Štvanice and now the fans are waiting for a longer break, the next tournament will take place in mid-September. What are they currently working on the most in Oktagon?
Oktagon is constantly moving, in July we had an extraordinary double tournament at Prague’s Štvanica, where there was a fantastic atmosphere on both days and there were really interesting matches full of stars.
It was already clear beforehand that after this challenging tournament there would be a longer break, as Oktagon will return in mid-September, when they will want to show the German audience in Frankfurt who is the European leader in MMA.
As it happens though, the organisation has to think well ahead, and so many may be wondering what is currently in the works. Understandably, it’s mainly expansion into the UK.
“Right now we are mainly preparing for the UK tournament, because we have already sold out Frankfurt. That means that the tournament in Bratislava and Cologne, which is extremely important for us because it’s the biggest arena in Germany, will immediately be promoted on social media.
It will be crucial if we manage to sell out the Lanxess Arena at a time when there is a carnival in Cologne. In Manchester, they’ve gone a bit crazy with the contract. So they’ve put a boxing tournament three weeks ahead of us, with KSI, Tommy Fury and Logan Paul. But that’s the way it is, if we want to play with and against the big boys, we have to be prepared for things like that.
The important thing for us right now is to do a great job communicating the tournament in England and all the projects we’ve been talking about. At the same time, we’ll be on TV, which boxing tournaments don’t even dream about. So we’ll see. It’s anadventure again,” Ondrej Novotny told CNN Prima News.
The tournament in Manchester will take place on November 4 and it is already certain that we will see Shema Rock, Akonne Wanliss and Stuart Austin again. We are still waiting for a bigger star to attract Czech and Slovak fans.
