Karabec to leave Sparta Prague? Italian club interested
Adam Karabec seems to have a great career ahead of him. But he definitely didn’t get as many opportunities as he would have expected last season. Now he is in demand in Italy, specifically in Bologna. Will the clubs agree on a transfer?

Adam Karabec made his first start for the A-team in February 2020, when he was just 16 years old. At that time, Sparta under coach Václav Kotal lost 1:0 to Olomouc Sigma at Androva Stadion.
Since then, the 20-year-old offensive midfielder has been picking up starts in the Fortuna Liga with iron regularity. After the end of Bořek Dočkal’s career and the departure of Adam Hložek to Bayer Leverkusen, he was supposed to be Sparta’s main driving force.
However, the Danish coach Brian Priske came to Letná, who mostly uses 3-4-3 formation, which is not the optimal place for Adam Karabec. So he was most often on the right wing.
Karabec played 23 league games last season, spending 960 minutes on the pitch. He helped his team to win the coveted championship title with two goals and the same number of assists. From an individual point of view, he probably imagined a more successful year.
In the summer, he travelled with the national team to the EURO U21. Jan Suchopárek’s team, however, won only three points (a win against Germany), which prevented them from qualifying for the knockout stage of the tournament. Now Karabec is preparing for the upcoming edition with Sparta in Austria.
However, the server iSport came up with information, which was also confirmed by the agent Pavel Paska, that an Italian team is interested in the talented footballer. In the previous season, Bologna finished in ninth place with 54 points, a quiet mid-table finish.
The team is coached by 40-year-old Thiago Motta, who spent a large part of his playing career at PSG. He also started as a coach there, specifically with PSG’s U19 team, so he certainly knows how to work with young players.
The question is how much would the winner of the last edition of the Fortuna Liga be willing to sell Adam Karabec for. According to the reputable Transfermarkt, his market value is €2.5 million, but Sparta would probably demand a higher amount.
