More big trouble for Juventus? Another points deduction and a fall to last place in the league table

Juventus’ problems are far from over? Quite possibly. After a recent 15-point deduction, Massimiliano Allegri’s charges have dropped to the second half of the table and it could be even worse. In fact, another loss of points is in play, which would mean the last place in the table for the club.

Juventus are in huge trouble. This season it is not only on the pitch but also in the club’s management. It was the behaviour of the officials that put the Bianconeri in a very uncomfortable situation, with members of the management taking illegal commissions from transfers between 2018 and 2020.

All with the help of reporting false profits to investors. The case has been under investigation for some time. Last year, the club was acquitted of the charges, however, in January they have already received punishments. Former vice-president Pavel Nedved, who has been banned from football for eight months, is not blameless either.

Juventus were deducted 15 points, which meant they dropped to the middle or second half of the table. Understandably, this also affects the psyche of the players and overall it increases the already huge pressure the club is facing.

In addition, there has been talk of punishments for the players. Cristiano Ronaldo is not to be absent among them. The latter is demanding Juventus to pay a sum of almost 20 million euros.

It could be worse

And to make matters worse, according to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, there is now the threat of another points deduction. The prosecutors of the Italian federation (FIGC) want to deduct at least 20 points from Juventus.

This time for the controversial payment of wages during the coronavirus pandemic. The trial is expected to take place in March, with Juventus defending that the players should have agreed to give up their wages for four months to help the club.

But wiretaps and WhatsApp messages suggest otherwise. Matthijs de Ligt and Mattia De Sciglio have also confirmed this.

If Juventus lose another 20 points, they will drop to last place. The Bianconeri would have only 3 points and would be 15 points behind the non-relegation positions.
