Looks like the last day of the transfer window is going to be a busy one. Both London clubs are trying to complete transfers before the end of the transfer window and in both cases the situation is pretty messy. A proper bombshell could be announced by Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur have been trying to bring in right-back Pedro Porro, who currently plays in Sporting Lisbon colours, for almost the whole of January.

However, the two clubs have been unable to agree on a transfer fee. Sporting have demanded to pay the entire clause all along, while Spurs have tried to split the amount into instalments and bonuses. Eventually, however, the two clubs found common ground.

The transfer seemed almost a sure thing. The Portuguese club also looked for a replacement for their right-back in the form of Hector Bellerín.

Tottenham had arranged a medical examination of the player for today, i.e. January 30, and the footballer himself said goodbye to the fans after the game on Saturday.

Sporting, however, suddenly suspended the transfer. They have decided to pull out of the deal and are trying to push through changes. Both clubs are currently in intense negotiations to be able to resolve the situation by the end of tomorrow.

Chelsea’s next huge transfer?

Even in the case of the other London club, the transfer of Enzo Fernandez has been under discussion for almost a whole month. In recent days, it seemed that Chelsea had already given up on the transfer and will be interested in the midfielder again in the summer.

However, everything is different and Chelsea is once again in intense negotiations with Benfica Lisbon. The latter had to reject an initial offer of €85 million and still insist on paying the exit clause, which amounts to €120 million.

Thus, Chelsea’s management is solely focused on this transfer and is trying to complete it in the winter transfer window to avoid any future interest from other clubs. Based on recent information, there will be no problem on the player’s side, but he respects the position of his current club.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are pursuing the possibility of an installment clause. However, Benfica are not interested in selling Fernandez. However, should that happen, the president of the Portuguese club, Rui Costa, insists on paying the full amount.
