This would be a very interesting move. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang came to Chelsea from Barcelona in the summer, but this engagement didn’t work out at all and the Gabonese striker became unwanted. Now he could return to Spain.
Aubameyang was brought to Chelsea in the summer by Thomas Tuchel, who already knew him from Borussia Dortmund. He felt trusted by the German coach, only for Tuchel to be sacked soon after and replaced by Graham Potter.
He is not a fan of Aubameyang. He hasn’t featured in the starting line-up since 6 November, and he made a mockery of him against Manchester City by sending him on for the injured Sterling in the 5th minute and then pulling him on for Hutchinson again in the 68th minute after a poor performance.
In the Blues jersey, the Gabonese striker started 9 Premier League games and scored once. In the Champions League, he made six appearances and scored twice.
Moreover, he will get a lot of competition at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are bringing in Joao Félix, Atlético Madrid’s Portuguese striker, on a six-month loan.
However, it is at the Civítas Metropolitano that the striker’s place has become vacant. According to the Spanish media, Atlético Madrid have started making enquiries about Aubameyang, who is currently unwanted at Chelsea.
He has good experience in La Liga. He scored 13 goals in 24 games for Barcelona last spring and Aubameyang himself is said to be reluctant to return to Spain.
the 33-year-old striker would face competition from Álvaro Morata, Antoine Griezmann and Ángel Correa at the Colchoneros. On the other hand, João Félix is expected to take his place at Chelsea and Brazilian Matheus Cunha has left for Wolves.
