The arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo to Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr is reportedly very close, according to the latest information available. The Portuguese star is expected to take part in medical tests in the coming days, how much will Ronaldo cost Al-Nassr?
The 2022 World Cup in Qatar – this was a big chance for Ronaldo to show his potential suitors that he still has something to offer.
But for the 37-year-old Portuguese, this championship didn’t quite work out. He failed to convince on the pitch and only scored one goal, and that was in Portugal’s opening game against Ghana.
However, he captained the national team in all three group games and played 88, 82 and 65 minutes. In the knockout phase, however, he only played 16 minutes against Switzerland and 39 minutes against Morocco.
Ronaldo was then still waiting, and is of course still waiting, for an offer from a European club to play in the Champions League in the spring phase of the season. But so far no such offer has landed on Ronaldo’s desk.
And so the only bidder for his services still remains Al-Nassr, and as we wrote earlier, the Saudis have even already released Ronaldo’s number 7 jersey.
CBC Sports server even came up with the information a few hours ago that Al-Nassr has already booked Ronaldo for a medical examination, whereupon the club believes that they will soon be able to sign the Portuguese captain.
Moreover, Ronaldo is a free agent as he has already terminated his contract with Manchester United ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Saudis want to sign the former Juventus or Real Madrid player on a long-term deal. Based on recent new information, the club is ready to offer him a seven-year contract worth $75 million per year.
The transfer should reportedly be completed before the January transfer window opens.
