Kincla’s statement: I was ready to start even with an unpleasant injury that could have ended in surgery and a forced break
After the announcement of Karlos Vemola’s absence from the Oktagon 38 tournament, another blow has come, we won’t see Patrik Kinzl there either. He also turned down his opponents due to injury and the organization will have to redo the starting lineup of the tournament.
After the announcement of Karlos Vemola’s absence from the Oktagon 38 tournament, another blow has come, we won’t see Patrik Kinzl there either. He also turned down his opponents due to injury and the organization will have to redo the starting lineup of the tournament.
On Friday in the early evening, the Oktagon MMA organization came with the information that we will not see Patrik Kinc at the next tournament. This confirmed the fears of many fans.
“Nate Diaz, Tom Breese or Apollo. Patrik Kincl will not be appearing at the O₂ Arena. UFC veteran and world #76 Tom Breese has agreed to the fight, as has former #80 Apollo, who made legendary fights with Kozma or Velickovic last time.
Nate Diaz unfortunately had demands that we were unable to meet. Unfortunately, the champion Patrik Kincl refused all options and is withdrawing from the tournament,” the organization announced on its social media.
The reasons for his refusal can be understood. He had been preparing for Vémol for a long time and would have had to completely change all his preparations shortly before the match. Moreover, he would have risked losing his belt unnecessarily.
Statement by Patrik Kinc
“It was supposed to be my year, but as it happens, life arranged it differently. So this year I will not fight anymore. There are a few things that may seem strange to me, but I’m not a doctor and I’m certainly not going to question the seriousness of the situation!
After all, I don’t think they keep you in the hospital just for fun. Those who want to criticize should realize that I didn’t throw those pitchforks into the match, and I was prepared to go in with a nasty injury that would have most likely ended in surgery and x months out of action after a tough match.
That’s why I didn’t end up taking on any other opponent. The rematch is a personal thing for me where I was willing to take that risk. Better written – I was okay with it. I would have taken Diaz too, of course, but it’s not worth taking the risk with anyone else for me in this situation.
After all, we know how such underestimation can turn out… I’ll let you know what happens next soon. Thanks to everyone for their understanding and support,” he told his fans on social media.
