This weekend is the first round of the English Premier League in November. It features several big games, the highlight being the London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal. But there will also be a derby for the capital for the Czech national team in the colours of West Ham.
Chelsea vs. Arsenal
Arsenal will go into the London derby as favourites after years of being the favourites. The leading team of the competition has lost only five points so far this season, having already beaten Liverpool and Tottenham. However, Bukayo Saka was injured last round and it is a question mark whether he will be fine.
Chelsea, on the other hand, have not won in three league games. After draws with Brentford and Manchester United, the explosion came at Brighton (4: 1). The Blues are ten points behind Arsenal and simply have to win the home derby.
Tottenham vs. Liverpool
It’s going to be a busy weekend in London. In a clash of two teams with uneven performances, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham will welcome Jürgen Klopp’s charges. Both clubs tuned up for the showpiece by winning the Champions League and neither side can afford to falter in the league.
Liverpool are under pressure, with just 16 points and a whopping 15 points behind first-placed Arsenal. They have lost twice in a row in the Premier League and need to bounce back. Tottenham, on the other hand, turned around a week ago at Bournemouth from 0: 2 to 3: 2 and stayed third. However, it has only a three-point cushion on fifth-placed Manchester United.
West Ham vs. Crystal Palace
Not a very interesting match at first glance, but it’s a derby, the winner of which will get closer to the Top 7 guaranteeing European Cups. Given the floundering of Liverpool and Chelsea, both can indeed think about the top seven if they start their winning streak this weekend.
Palace have won three of the last five rounds and are only three points behind seventh-placed Fulham from ninth place, while West Ham are stuck on a tough draw, five points adrift of the cups from 13th. Both need to win, with the Hammers definitely favourites at home.
