After another league win, Plzeň has a tough task ahead of them. Viktoria’s performance in the group stage currently ranks among the worst ever teams in the Champions League, not only this season but historically.
It has not even gained a point in its group of death, where it has to face Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Inter Milan. The very negative score of 3::16 is also not flattering. However, in the fifth match the Westerners want to correct the bad impression.
On Tuesday, they head towards Italy, specifically Milan, where they will face Inter there at San Siro before 7pm on Wednesday. The Victorians, however, believe they are well prepared.
“We are facing another tough opponent, but we are gaining a lot of experience with this and of course we are looking forward to it again. We willdefinitely want to be better than we have been so far in the opening game, but also during the game,” Pavel Horváth let the club’s website hear.
Defender Václav Jemelka, who came to Plzeň from Sigma Olomouc, also had his say on the match. According to him, Viktoria has to improve their whole game, and they will have to be careful especially against Inter’s great strikers.
“We have shown where the mistakes were, which we have to eliminate and above all try to score a goal. We want to make it as difficult as possible for them. I hope that we will trouble Inter and finally score,” Jemelka said.
The national defender is looking forward to the match and hopes for the sake of the Pilsen fans that Viktoria will finally give them some joy.
