The Prague derby was scheduled for the 7th round of the women’s football league. In the duel between the first team of the table and the second team we saw a great drama, but thanks to the overwhelming conclusion the Slavic women defended the first place.
Both teams were separated only by the score before the duel. Slavia was at the top of the table with 15 points and a score of 35::2, Sparta had the same number of points and a score of 23::3.
In the duel played in Horní Měcholupy there were a lot of inaccuracies, in the first half we saw only one chance when the home team’s Tereza Kožárová header was well off target.
At half-time it was probably very lively in the visiting players’ cabin, because the Spartans had a rocket start to the second half. Chang converted her chance in the 47th minute to send Sparta into the lead.
In the 53rd minute, the second goal came when the centre from the left side landed at Martínková, who moved the ball to Dlasková and she increased it to 2:0.
At that time Spartans were in control of the match, they did not let their rivals into chances and continued to be more dangerous. However, Slavia coach Karel Piták did not want to accept this and made two key substitutions.
In the 80th minute, Michaela Khýrová reduced the score to 1:2 with a shot to the front post, and two minutes later the Slavs took advantage of a fast break, which was finished by the second substitute Petra Divišová, to equalise at 2:2.
Jaroslav Tvrdík, the boss of Slavia, and his colleagues watched the derby of Prague “S”.
Thanks to the late equaliser, the Slavs remained at the top of the table. The late equaliser will surely be a boost before Thursday’s first Champions League group game, where the women from Eden will face AS Roma.
