Valencia vs. Atlético Madrid: Preview and betting tips

The highlight of Monday’s football programme will be the duel between Valencia and Atlético Madrid. Both teams lost in the last round and they cannot afford to lose again. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?

Valencia is experiencing an average start to the season. After an embarrassing 1-0 win over Girona in the opening round, they lost narrowly 0-1 to Athletic Bilbao. They are 14th in the table, one point behind fourth place.

Atlético gave a four to Juventus in the pre-season dress rehearsal and a three to Getafe in the league debut, but then lost to Villarreal. They are twelfth in the table, just a point ahead of Monday’s opponents.

Valencia’s only goal of the season was scored by Carlos Soler, an offensive midfielder and member of the senior Spanish national team. Left back and team captain José Gayá and Brazilian stopper Gabriel Paulista are also mainstays.

Atlético, on the other hand, have scored at least three times in three of their last four games, including four goals against Juventus.
