According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, Borussia Dortmund have made their first official bid for Ivory Coast striker Sebastien Haller. The Westphalian club is expected to pay €33 million plus bonuses for him.
If the main German sports tabloids are to be believed, it may take some time before the deal is concluded. According to Sport Bild, Ajax want to get up to €38 million for the 27-year-old.
The Dutch outfit will be in no mood to compromise; not after losing key players Ryan Gravenberch and Noussair Mazraoui to Bayern Munich and coach Erik ten Hag to Manchester United.
He scored 34 goals in 42 games in all competitions, including 11 in just eight Champions League games. The former Eintracht Frankfurt striker has reportedly turned down more lucrative offers from other clubs seeking his services. He scored 24 goals during his time in the Bundesliga between 2017 and 2019.
Dortmund have already spent a large amount of money this season. It has acquired Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck, Salih Özacan, Karim Adeyemi, Marcel Lotka and Alexander Meyer. BVB’s spending has already reached around 55 million euros.
