The football clubs that are united under the Red Bull brand boast excellent scouting and facilities for young players. And the biggest of Red Bull’s clubs, Leipzig, will now be joined by a Czech-born striker.
Yannick Eduardo was born in the Czech Republic, specifically in Kadan. He is a 16-year-old footballer who has a Czech mother and an Angolan father. He therefore has Czech citizenship and it is possible that he could eventually play in our national teams.
So far Eduardo has shone in the youth teams of the Dutch Nijmegen. This season he scored 9 goals in 14 games for the U17 team. Last season he scored 18 goals.
However, the left-footed striker, who will have the choice to represent both the Netherlands and the Czech Republic, will now be moving. He has been lured into their ranks by RB Leipzig, one of the top Bundesliga sides.
“I am very happy with this move. I have had several conversations with the club, in which I was convinced of the correctness of this move. I feel that I am in the right place. I want to develop as much as possible in the coming years,” Eduard is quoted by the Telegraaf.
The Czech native has also had offers from other clubs, and several foreign clubs were interested in him. Nevertheless, he chose Leipzig.
The fact is that Leipzig can boast a great background for young talents. Moreover, it can send players to teams that also operate under the Red Bull banner, which can often only help.
