Michal Martínek agreed with his organization ACA to dissolve the contract after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He is currently looking for someone to wrestle under. How many offers does he have and how is his situation at the moment?

Thirty-two year old MMA fighter Michal Martinek is no longer under contract with the Russian ACA. He agreed to end his cooperation with the company after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

“We agreed that we won’t do any cavities and I can fight elsewhere. With them it was always as we agreed, so we don’t have the slightest doubt that there would be any problems on their side. So we thanked each other for working together and we’re moving on,” he said in an interview with MMAShorties.

So now he’s free to choose where he heads. The logical choice is to join the Octagon, where he fought before he went abroad.

Ondrej Novotny confirmed that negotiations with Martinek are ongoing, but the experienced fighter has many more options, whether it’s KSW or even RFA.

“I am currently dealing with three to four offers from different organizations and we are finalizing it. KSW is one of the options. We’re more or less fine-tuning the conditions there and we’re also looking at the alternative that I could fight in two organizations at the same time, that I could fight on the Czechoslovak scene and at the same time fight abroad.

That’s the way that makes the most sense to me, that I could show myself to the fans in our country from time to time, because I have massive support here and a lot of people write to me asking me to show myself here. So I’m trying to evaluate it and make the right decision,” he added.

So it is very likely that KSW will take him under their wing and he will be able to perform in the Czech Republic on and off. A more realistic option for a domestic organization is the RFA, which allows alternating starts and where a wrestler can earn more money.
