Oktagon Prime 5 offered several interesting fights, and the main event, in which Bojan Velickovic and Maté Kertész squared off, has to be one of them.
Both of them put on a really good performance and the Serbian was surprisingly happy with the victory. But many saw it differently and the hall was whistled after the result was announced.
“Well, the result was… You heard the audience. I think it’s not good for the organization, for the sport, but ultimately not good for Bojan either. It’s strange, but that’s just the way the sport is. We don’t have to leave it to the referees, so I can’t say anything more about it,” said a disappointed Kertész after the game.
Velickovic himself was also surprised after the match, and as he left he raised the hand of his opponent, whom he considered the winner, above his head. promoter Ondrej Novotny saw it the same way.
“We have referees who referee the World Amateur Championships, we have referees who referee the biggest tournaments in the UFC and, although I personally saw the result differently and we were actually surprised in the group, all three judges saw the result the same way.
They scored the rounds exactly the same and saw Bojan simply winning based on more damage and hardness. I think when we all watch the fight again, we will be able to find a Bojan win there just like we found a Máté win, he said at the press conference.
The Hungarian fighter thus notched up a defeat after three wins, which is only the fourth of his career. Velickovic, on the other hand, made amends after his defeat to David Kozma.
