Kincl shed light on how he accepted the offer to fight Attila and praised the Octagon

Patrik Kincl will fight Attila Vegh in the Fight Night Challenge on Monday 27th December. When did he receive the offer for the fight and how did the whole situation develop?

The Fight Night Challenge tournament was supposed to feature a main event between Attila Vegh and Emanuel Newton. However, the American had tested positive for coronavirus before his flight, so he couldn’t take part in the tournament.

Végh had to find an opponent in a hurry so that the gala would not lose both quality and interest. And it was a great success. Patrik Kincl, who was enjoying the Christmas holidays, will play Attila.

“I got the offer on Christmas Eve, so everyone can imagine what the situation was like. I was intrigued at first and immediately approached Oktagon and Ondra Novotny to see if they would release me at all,” Kincl told MMA Shorties.

Oktagon did release him for the fight, and Samuel Kristofich, who Kincl was scheduled to fight for the middleweight title on December 30, will also fight at the tournament.

However, the bout was postponed due to coronavirus restrictions, so the two will at least box. There is talk that there will be a big weight difference between Vegh and Kincl, but the Czech believes not.

Last but not least, he praised the Octagon for making him available for the fight. “In my opinion, I have a bit tighter contract than Pirate, so they didn’t have to let me go. However, Ondrej Novotny was fair and gave me the green light,” he added.
