Another blow for the Octagon! The last tournament of the year lost two more matches
OKTAGON 30 was supposed to be a great conclusion to the year, but even two days before it was to take place, it was haunted by apparently never-ending bad luck. Two matches are in jeopardy, but the organization is looking for a solution.
OKTAGON 30 was supposed to be a great conclusion to the year, but even two days before it was to take place, it was haunted by apparently never-ending bad luck. Two matches are in jeopardy, but the organization is looking for a solution.
The cursed tournament. Apparently OKTAGON 30 deserves no other nickname. Two more matches, which fans were looking forward to, have been cancelled.
Lucia Szabová was supposed to return to action to face Olga Rubin, the former Bellator title challenger who left a great impression after her match in Pardubice.
But Rubin is out of the game. The Octagon organization announced that Rubin tested positive for the coronavirus.
Tato Primera, who was supposed to fight in an attractive bout with Emmanuel Dawa, will also not be at the event.
“We are diligently searching for adequate replacements for both of them and will update you on the situation soon,” the organization’s announcement read.
Octagon eventually came up with a quick and interesting solution.
Originally, the OKTAGON 30 tournament was to be held at the O2 arena, with the highlight being a title fight between the Pirate and Karlos Vemola, followed by a title fight with Patrik Kinclo. The fight was postponed to February.
Matej Peňáz and Vlasto Čepo were supposed to be the main event, but the latter got injured. Tereza Bledá and Mabelly Lima will fight for the title in the main draw.
