Very unpleasant news related to Bayern Munich and French football star Lucas Hernández leaked on Wednesday. A criminal court in Madrid has ordered the player to be imprisoned for up to 1 year!
Spanish daily AS reported that the trial was opened by Hernández’s attorney, Aurora Arrebola del Valle, on 14 September.
“Lucas François Bernard Hernández is summoned to appear in court on 19 October 2021 and is obliged to report to the prison of his choice within 10 days,” the attorney said.
The court issued a ban on the footballer seeing his wife together in 2017 following allegations of sexual abuse. For six months, the pair were not allowed to speak to each other and each had to perform community service during that time. However, the couple ignored the measures and flew away for their honeymoon later that year.
Upon arrival, the French representative was arrested by the Miami police. He was subsequently subjected to a procedure in Madrid against violence against women, but was immediately released.
The woman, Amelia, was only identified, not detained. All this was due to the delay in issuing a restraining order.
The Bayern Munich star now faces a prison sentence of one year. Even the lawyers, whose appeal was rejected after the original ban issued by the judge was violated, could not help.
Thus, within the next few days, Hernandez must appear in the Spanish capital on 19 October to choose a place to serve his sentence.
The club’s management said it was unaware of the serious criminal situation, despite the player receiving news of the criminal proceedings on September 14.
