Samir Nasri was one of the most talented footballers in the world. Although he played for some interesting clubs, he never quite fulfilled his potential. But now he has surprised fans with his post-career physique, as it is clear that any self control is gone.
Nasri started his football at Marseille, where he played four excellent seasons and was scouted by Arsene Wenger. So in the summer of 2008 he moved to Arsenal, where he personally had the best part of his career and was considered one of the greatest talents in the world.
He spent three seasons in a Gunners jersey, became a fan favourite and scored 24 goals from the offensive midfielder position. But then he turned all Arsenal supporters against him when he left for Manchester City in search of money and trophies.
He went on to win the coveted Premier League title with the Citizens, playing five seasons at the Etihad Stadium and scoring 27 goals. In 2016, he went on loan to Sevilla, where he scored 2 goals and assisted on 3 in 23 games.
But after returning from Spain, his career took a downturn. He left Manchester City for Antalyaspor in Turkey, where he managed only 8 games. He was also hit with a doping suspension, for which he had a 6 month break. He then returned to England, but only played 6 games for West Ham.
Nasri’s last engagement was with Anderlecht in Belgium. There, in the 2019/20 season, he played 7 games and scored 1 goal. Since then, he has been without an engagement and retired.
In a charity match that took place on Wednesday evening, the Marseille team took on Arsene Wenger’s UNICEF team. On the pitch were stars like Robert Pires, Didier Drogba or just Samir Nasri.
And the 34-year-old midfielder caused the biggest stir among the fans. It’s quite obvious that he is enjoying the end of his career and has thrown the lifestyle he had to strictly follow in the trash.
Fans were also amused over the footage of Nasri’s moments in the match. He hasn’t got used to his new addition properly yet and so at times he found it difficult to start and stop.
