Well, nobody expected this. Jake Paul retires from professional boxing after winning his fourth fight. The reason is said to be long-term fatigue from the sport, as the young YouTuber hasn’t done anything else for months.
Jake Paul announced his end in boxing in the early hours of the morning, after, winning his fourth fight. A fight with Conor McGregor is unlikely to happen.
Paul’s record thus ends at 4-0, having beaten Tyron Woodley on Sunday, but he was promised a rematch after the fight. In the end, he probably changed his mind.
The reason for his demise? “I’ve been boxing for 18 months now. I haven’t even been to the dentist or had my hair cut in that time. My teeth are crooked and my nose is crooked too. I guess I need to take it easy for a while,” he said.
“I’m only 24 years old, I’m changing and still growing and of course I make mistakes. Iwill come back to the gym when I feel ready,” he added.
So Paul is probably quitting because of fatigue, but there may be another reason. Speculations have started that he is doping before the matches. With this move, he would become irrelevant over time and no one would care about the doping allegations.
It is therefore questionable whether we will ever see him in professional boxing again. Paul should have earned more than 2 billion crowns for his last fight, so he has nothing to chase.
