Excellent news from Italy! Christian Eriksen has joined Inter Milan to undergo various tests. They turned out to be excellent. But what’s next for the player?
Christian Eriksen returned to Italy on Wednesday to undergo a series of tests to decide his future.
All because of a moment that scared not only football fans during the European Championship. In the 43rd minute of the opening game of the Euros, the Danish star collapsed.
He was resuscitated on the pitch and regained consciousness. He was then taken to hospital where Eriksen was operated on and given a heart rhythm monitor.
So Eriksen won one war, but it didn’t end there. In Italy, it is forbidden to play top-level sports with devices inserted into the body to monitor heart rhythms.
So the Danish star had a heart check-up on his return to Italy to see how he was doing. And the result? Perfect!
“Eriksen is fine and is in excellent mental and physical condition. Hewill now follow the recovery programme proposed by the Danish doctors in Copenhagen, who will coordinate all observations and inform the club’s medical staff,” reads a statement on Inter Milan’s club website.
So there is still hope that the former Tottenham or Ajax player will not have to look for a new engagement. But we will know the details in time.
