Toby Alderweireld is leaving Tottenham Hotspur after six years and heading for a new deal. However, don’t expect any European club, as the 32-year-old Belgian stopper has signed for Qatari side Al-Duhail SC.

Experienced stopper Toby Alderweireld has been a key player in the team throughout his time at Spurs, putting in excellent performances. As a result, he has been the subject of interest from various big clubs.

During his time at Tottenham, Alderweireld played 236 games, scored 9 goals, notched 5 assists and made an unquestionable mark in the history of this club.

Now the Wilrijk native has a new engagement, which is Qatari club Al-Duhail SC.

Alderweireld signed a contract with his new club until 30 June 2024. The new employer had to pay Spurs 13 million euros for the Belgian.

Another well-known name has also worked at this Qatari club in the past. In fact, Croatian canon Mario Mandžukić scored goals there in the 2019/20 season.
