It would be foolish to write off Germany, Klopp believes in the strength of his countrymen
Fans of the German national team certainly have little reason to rejoice, given their performance so far at the European Championships. However, Jurgen Klopp still believes in his countrymen and would definitely not write them off just yet!
Fans of the German national team certainly have little reason to rejoice, given their performance so far at the European Championships. However, Jurgen Klopp still believes in his countrymen and would definitely not write them off just yet!
The Germans started the European Championship with a 0:1 loss to France, but then outscored Portugal 4:2 and finally drew with Hungary 2:2. In the end, they finished second in the group of death, which means they will face England on Tuesday.
However, our neighbours are not happy with the team’s performance in particular and Joachim Low is taking it from all sides. However, Jurgen Klopp is standing up for his compatriot and still believes in him.
“To write off Germany now would be foolish. We played well against France, we dominated against Portugal like no other team in recent years.
Then we didn’t perform well against Hungary, but that’s all that happened. Sometimes you just need a game like that to move on,” Klopp was quoted as saying in an interview with Bild newspaper.
Tuesday’s match against England at Wembley will decide success or failure. It must be added, however, that Germany have done well against the English, having managed to knock them out in 4 of their last 5 encounters in the World Cup or European Championship play-offs.
The last time was at the World Cup on the day exactly 11 years ago. The game was very emotional and full of refereeing errors, but the Germans eventually blasted England 4-1 and reached the semi-finals where they were beaten by Spain.
