The 31st round of the Premier League kicks off on Saturday. It will offer a duel within the Top 6, few would have expected before the season that it would be a match between Aston Villa and Newcastle. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
Chelsea vs. Brighton
A big club in terrible form will challenge a small team in its season of a lifetime. Brighton will travel to Stamford Bridge to fight for more points in the fight for the Top 7. With two games to go, they have seven points more than the Blues.
Chelsea are close to being knocked out of the Champions League and are already fighting for the Europa League at most in the Premier League. So you can say that it has no proper motivation for the season. It has been waiting to win five games, three of which it has lost.
Brighton didn’t get any points from their draw with Tottenham a week ago, yet they are deservedly in seventh place. They are enjoying their performances and results, and they are capable of beating the favourites. They are a point behind sixth-placed Aston Villa and have two games in hand.
Aston Villa vs. Newcastle
Two years ago, this match would have excited almost nobody, six months ago Newcastle were offering a clear win, but now both teams are in the top 6. Villans are trying to stay in the elite seven, Magpies are even thinking about the Champions League.
Aston Villa went up immediately after the arrival of Unaie Emery. Its squad had huge potential from the start of the season, now winning six of its last seven games. The Spanish coach is once again casting his spell and the media are believing him to keep the elite seven!
But even Newcastle have picked themselves up after the winter crisis. Five triumphs in a row, thanks mainly to a rampant Alexandre Isak, invites a very interesting duel between two functioning outsiders who want to go to the cups after years.
Leeds vs. Liverpool
Leeds are only two points away from relegation, but they are confident on home soil. They have troubled Arsenal and Manchester United here this season, even beating Chelsea. Last time here they got a five from Crystal Palace, so the players have something to give back to the fans.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are struggling away from Anfield. They have failed to win five games in a row, losing three of them. The defence is on fire, which winger Wilfried Gnonto or the experienced Jack Harrison will want to exploit.
