Chelsea continue to drown in terrible performances and the management reacts by changing the manager again!
Graham Potter has been coaching at Chelsea for just over six months and because the management has run out of patience, he won’t be adding any more. After a very successful engagement at Brighton, the London club rightly had high expectations. However, these have not been confirmed and the cooperation is over.
Graham Potter has been coaching at Chelsea for just over six months and because the management has run out of patience, he won’t be adding any more. After a very successful engagement at Brighton, the London club rightly had high expectations. However, these have not been confirmed and the cooperation is over.
The final nail in Potter’s coffin was Saturday’s 0:2 home defeat to Aston Villa. Although the Blues were clearly the more active team, they failed to score and at the end of the game the scoreboard showed zero for the home team.
The whole club is going through a difficult period. Roman Abramovich had to “get rid” of his Chelsea and there were many changes and uncertainties. Thomas Tuchel was sacked at the time from the Champions League, after an unsuccessful game in Zagreb.
What would the whole club currently give for this state of affairs. Chelsea are only the fourth best team in London and are only 11th in the Premier League table.
They are an absolutely abysmal 34 points behind leaders Arsenal. They are twelve points behind the fourth place, which secures the Champions League. Conversely, the Blues have a twelve point lead on the relegation position.
In his post-match interview, Potter took the final and fatal defeat upon himself. We are a team, we have to stay together, we are together. We win together or we lose together. We will recover and get ready for the next game. We have to react, that’s clear. But we are looking forward to it.”
It won’t come to that. Or at least not with Potter on the bench. Instead, it came at the request of fans who started sharing the hashtag “Potter out” on social media after Saturday’s loss.
There’s been a lot of changes in the last few days. According to the latest information, Brendan Rodgers is expected to leave Leicester.
