Bayern are about to sack their current coach Julian Nagelsamann. The charismatic German will most likely be replaced by his compatriot Thomas Tuchel, who was last at Chelsea.
On Thursday evening, reports came from multiple sources that Bayern Munich are planning to sack their coach Julian Nagelsmann. This information was also confirmed by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is considered the front-runner to replace him. Some sources even report that the coach should already be agreed with the club on a contract until the end of 2025.
The news of Nagelsmann’s sacking came as a bolt from the blue. Almost no one in the football public expected this news. The fact that this decision came at the most important part of the season makes it all the more strange.
Bayern are not as confident as we are used to this season. This is most likely due to the departure of long-time mainstay Robert Lewandowski of Poland. But be warned, there is certainly no question of a result tragedy here. That’s why Nagelsmann’s sacking is such a shock.
The team from Bavaria went past a star-studded PSG in the Champions League after a very convincing performance. But it’s mainly the domestic Bundesliga that’s creaking. There, Julian Nagelsmann’s team are a point behind Borussia Dortmund, who seem to be a tough opponent for the Bavarians. The loss to Bayer Leverkusen did not help the players’ psyche either.
Nagelsmann should have been given time
Yes, Bayern Munich is one of the biggest clubs in the world and the management definitely envisions better results in an ideal scenario, as well as a game performance, but sacking Nagelsmann is premature.
the 35-year-old manager has been doing an honest job at the club since the summer of 2021 and has also led the team to a domestic league title. Moreover, no coach can transform a team in his image in a year and a half. Whoever the new coach is, he won’t want to play exactly the same football Nagelsmann wanted to play.
Another factor is the timing of the firing. The new coach will have to get things done immediately. However, he will only be able to change so much and the results won’t come right away either. Bayern should have dealt with the Nagelsmann situation after the season
