Bayern Munich hosted VFB Stuttgart on Saturday 10 September, but the Bavarian side failed to bring the match to a successful conclusion, thus earning their third draw in a row. This is the worst start for the German giant in 12 years.
Bayern started the new Bundesliga season in a great way, firstly by beating Eintracht Frankfurt 6:1. Then came two more wins, at home against Wolfsburg (2:0) and then in Bochum (7:0).
The fourth round of the German top flight then awarded Bayern to Borussia Mönchengladbach. The home side, although they clearly had the better of the match, were unable to beat goalkeeper Sommer more than once, and so the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
The same was practically true at Union Berlin, who seem to be in great form this year and are currently leading the Bundesliga table. This match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Bayern suffered their third consecutive loss on Saturday 10 September when they failed to beat Stuttgart at the Allianz Arena. The Bavarian club again created more scoring opportunities and even scored the first goal. Mathys Tel opened the scoring in the 36th minute.
However, the visitors then scored a goal in the 52nd which was disallowed. Five minutes later, however, their fans were delighted with a legitimate goal when Chris Fuhrich scored. Three minutes later, Jamal Musiala took the lead for Bayern, but Serhou Guirassy equalised in the second half.
This is Bayern’s worst start to a season in twelve years, although there is certainly no question of a crisis.
Objectively, we can note that Bayern has been the dominant team in Germany for a long time, and even a similar performance gap may not mean anything at all.
It should be added that Bayern are currently second in the table with 12 points, while they have the same number of points as third-placed Hoffenheim, fourth-placed Freiburg and fifth-placed Dortmund.
