Jack Grealish arrived at Manchester City with much fanfare. Aston Villa paid £100 million for their captain. But the star signing hasn’t quite been able to make it and there’s even talk of him leaving…

When he came on for Aston Villa, the superlatives just kept pouring in. As captain and leader, he took the Villains to the Premier League, where he then put in great performances and had more than respectable stats.

Logically, all the big clubs started knocking on his door, a battle that was eventually won by Manchester City, who put more than £100 million on the table.

In the summer of 2021, he became a superpower for the Citizens, only that integration into the champions’ squad was harder than he expected. Although with Guardiola’s rotation it is not easy for anyone, Grealish has not been able to make his way into the starting line-up properly, much criticism has also been heaped on his performances.

Thus, in his first season in the Premier League, he started 26 games out of 38 and finished with a 3+3 record. Even the start of this season did not catch him in ideal form.

Before the break for the World Cup, he started 8 games and scored one goal. He didn’t shine in Qatar either, scoring a goal in the first game against Iran from the bench, but he didn’t start in the starting lineup in any of the games.

So, according to English newspaper Sky Sports, the Citizens management is currently considering using Grealish in a swap with Rafael Leão. The Portuguese AC Milan sensation is in high demand and apart from the English champion, Real Madrid, PSG and Manchester United are interested in the 23-year-old striker.

His price will also be very high and the Italian club will consider a sum of around 100 million euros.

However, Grealish will surely try to keep in Pep Guardiola’s squad and went about it in the best possible way. He started in the starting line-up against Leeds and although he burnt some huge chances, he notched up two assists, which may help him in a crowded competition.
